Bouchon – Las Vegas

bouchonvegas
I finally made it to Bouchon, Thomas Keller’s French bistro! The restaurant is tricky to locate in the Venetian hotel but well worth the search. We were lucky enough to get a table outside in the sun (which is next to one of the pools). It took an extraordinarily long time to decide what we wanted to order because everything sounded fantabulous. As we sipped on mimosa’s we needed to have the specials explained at least twice. bouchonbeneRachel and I ended up with the Croque Madame which is toasted ham & cheese on brioche with a fried egg and mornay sauce (BĂ©chamel) and a side of pommes frites (fries). It was beyond good. It was sinful and I ate the entire thing without batting an eye. Dena had her first benedict. Unbelievable, right?…at our age! Well, her first was a doozy — Eggs Florentine (substitute spinach and smoked salmon for the ham). I loved everything about our long relaxing brunch and I can’t wait to return. I’ve already decided what I’m having next time.

  1. Vegas was a blast, so glad we made our annual trip work this year! Bouchon was easily the highlight of my time in Vegas! I am craving the Croque Madame, may have to attempt this at home!

  2. I recently visited a restaurant which offered both the Croque Madame as well as Croque Monsieur in their sandwich listing. I was so intrigued…alas, we were there for the cheese plates and other tapas. So, now I will make a point to go back and try one of them (since Vegas is not in my immediate future!)

I found you on TasteSpotting and am writing to say that if you have any photos that aren’t accepted there, I’d love to publish them. Visit my new site (below), it’s a lot of fun! I hope you will consider it.

  3. im beyond jealous…a proper bouchon bistro is the only thing missing from nyc (though there is the bouchon bakery). that croque madame looks beyond amazing, and truly decadent; kudos to you for not feeling any guilt, i would have eaten every bite, too!

  4. I loved the Croque Madame so much when we were in Las Vegas last year, that I had it twice. It is easily the best breakfast I have ever had.

Everything about Bouchon is fabulous. The service is outstanding, the food some of the best I have ever had and the atmosphere really makes you feel that you are in Paris instead of a restaurant in a hotel in Las Vegas.

We also picked up sandwiches and pastries at the Bouchon Bakery (on the main floor) for a picnic in our room one afternoon.

  5. Buddiegirl – twice in a week? I don’t think I could handle that!
